Estate Cabernet Franc 2011

San Francisco Chronicle 2015 - GOLD

Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Stephen Tanzer's IWC Dec 2014 - 89 POINTS. "Bright dark red. Musky currant, dark cherry, pipe tobacco and spices on the nose. A suave, fine-grained midweight with dark fruit, herb and menthol flavors given shape by bright acidity. Ultimately suaver than the 2010 Claret, this varietally accurate cabernet finishes with a fine dusting of tannins, nicely integrated acidity and a faint repeating greenness." -- Stephen Tanzer

Estate Claret 2010

San Francisco Chronicle 2015 - GOLD

Estate Syrah 2010

TEXSOM International 2014 - GOLD

Wine Enthusiast, July 2015 - 91 POINTS - "This appealing wine is already five years old but could use more time to show its best. The aromas of black pepper, licorice and blackberry are generous. Taut and tart fruit flavors come with a pleasing mouthfeel and a finish that lingers. Best from 2018 to 2021". S.S (7/1/2015)

Estate Merriment 2010

Stephen Tanzer's IWC Nov/Dec 2014 - 91 POINTS. "Bright dark red. Sexy aromas of redcurrant, red cherry, rose petal, brown spices and subtle oak, complicated by tobacco and leather. Silky, bright and juicy, in a distinctly pretty style. Lovely floral lift to the flavors of red fruits and spices. A touch dry on the back but the firm tannic spine avoids coming off as hard. There’s something almost sangiovese-like about this wine’s texture and floral perfume. Finishes with excellent energy and lift. I’d give this another two years in the cellar before pulling the cork. A lovely example of its vintage."

Inspired 2010

Stephen Tanzer's IWC Nov/Dec 2014 - 90 POINTS. Basel’s St. Emilion blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc "Healthy medium red. Black cherry, leather, herbs and spices, along with a slight Old World funk. Fat, rich, broad and fine-grained; dense and sweet but doesn’t show the high pitch or the class of the reserve cabernet. Currant and cherry flavors are complicated by leather, earth and herb nuances, with obvious acidity combining with firm tannins to give the finish a slightly dry edge. Not as primary as the reserve Cabernet but still needs another year or two to harmonize in the bottle."

Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Stephen Tanzer's IWC Nov/Dec 2014 - 92+ POINTS. "Bright dark red. Brooding, slightly medicinal aromas are nonetheless riper than those of the 2010 Merriment blend, offering red and black fruits, mocha, minerals and sexy oak tones. Silky and concentrated without any impression of weight, with the dark berry and mineral flavors showing terrific definition and floral lift but coming across as youthfully austere today owing to the wine’s very firm acid/tannin spine. Elegantly styled, savory and very long on the finish, with beautifully coated tannins. This slowly evolving 2010 should be at its best between about 2017 and 2025."

Estate Reserve Merlot 2010

San Francisco Chronicle 2015 - GOLD

Estate Malbec 2010

Stephen Tanzer's IWC Nov/Dec 2014 - 90 POINTS. "Bright full red. Lovely floral perfume to the aromas of raspberry and spices. Supple, creamy red fruit flavors show enticing sweetness and a complicating saline nuance. Smooth, silky and long on the back end, with sweet red fruit flavors carrying through nicely."

Estate Merlot 2010

Savor NW Wine Competition 2014 - SILVER

Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Stephen Tanzer's IWC Nov/Dec 2012 - 91+ POINTS. "Good bright ruby-red. Aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, mocha and sweet oak are lifted by a floral topnote. Suave, dry and concentrated; the finest-grained of these 2009 reds to this point, offering youthfully bright flavors of dark berries, licorice and herbs. The big but pliant tannins coat the palate on the long, very primary finish. This wine displays lovely subtle sweetness of fruit but will need time in bottle to gain nuance. It should age nicely."

Wine Spectator, June 2014 - 90 POINTS. "Vibrant, focused and appealing, with smoky, juicy cherry and black currant flavors, persisting through a blanket of prickly tannins. Best from 2015 through 2019." H.S.

Estate Claret 2009

Savor NW Wine Competition 2014 - SILVER

Estate Syrah 2009

Stephen Tanzer's IWC Nov/Dec 2012 - 89 POINTS. "Good bright red-ruby. Cassis, blueberry, licorice, mocha and brown spices on the nose, complicated by a whiff of violet. Spicy and a bit tart, showing a savory character to its flavors of black fruits, brown spices and game. Good spicy intensity here. The acids and tannins initially clashed on the back end but harmonized with air. Finishes with a fresh blueberry flavor."

Estate Merlot 2009

Stephen Tanzer's IWC Nov/Dec 2012 - 88 POINTS. "Good dark red. High-toned aromas of black cherry, blackberry, licorice and chocolatey oak. Smooth, sweet and lush without coming off as heavy, offering nicely concentrated flavors of black raspberry, black cherry, mocha and smoked meat. Finishes with good lingering sweetness, but the dusty, building tannins ultimately turned a bit dry."

Estate Merriment 2009

Stephen Tanzer's IWC Nov/Dec 2012 - 90+ POINTS "Good bright medium red. Ripe, inviting aromas of currant, tobacco leaf and rose petal show surprising lift for a wine with 15+% alcohol. Suave on entry, then concentrated and dry, with dark berry, spice and earth flavors complemented by a hint of maraschino cherry. Brisk acidity gives the wine a refreshing edge. Finishes broad, fruity, ripely tannic and classically dry. This bottling comes from the producer's "highest quality blocks."

Estate Merriment 2008

Stephen Tanzer's IWC Nov/Dec 2012 - 89 POINTS. "Bright, dark red. Aromas of raspberry and spicy oak. Sweet raspberry, smoke, spice and earth flavors offer good sweetness and a smooth texture. Shows good body but not quite the definition for outstanding. Finishes with plenty of broad, dusty tannins and good length. (A second bottle, which I scored 88, showed more earth and herbs on the palate and some edgy acidity on the finish.)"

Estate Syrah 2008

Stephen Tanzer's IWC Nov/Dec 2012 - 89+ POINTS. "Ruby-red. Aromas of black raspberry, mocha and smoked meat; less primary than the 2009 but displays a more flamboyant syrah character. Distinctly cooler in the mouth than the '09 but with very good definition and intensity to its flavors of dark berries, pepper, spices and herbs. Shows the texture and weight of a Saint-Joseph. Finishes with obvious acidity, light tannins and good cut."

San Francisco Wine Chronicle 2012 - GOLD

Inspired 2008

Stephen Tanzer's IWC Nov/Dec 2012 - 88 POINTS. "Good medium red. Raspberry, dusty oak and a hint of brown spices on the nose. Supple cherry and spice flavors are energized by firm acidity; shows a redder fruit quality than the 2009 version. Finishes slightly tart, with lightish tannins, hints of mint and herbs and moderate length."
