Inspired 2010

Columbia Valley, Washington

WINEMAKER NOTES

The Inspired is our version of a classic Right-Bank Bordeaux. The blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc has historically produced some of the most sought after wines in history. Ours takes that harmonious blend and displays what fruit from Eastern Washington can achieve.

Blackberry, blueberry and pie crust aromas on the nose with just a hint of eucalyptus. Robust fruits on the palette; black raspberry, cherry and plums, are supported by supple tannins with a complete and silky mouth feel. A great balance of acidity, fruit and tannins. Old World Style with New World Fruit!

ACCOLADES

Stephen Tanzer’s IWC Nov/Dec 2014 – 90 POINTS. Basel’s St. Emilion blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc “Healthy medium red. Black cherry, leather, herbs and spices, along with a slight Old World funk. Fat, rich, broad and fine-grained; dense and sweet but doesn’t show the high pitch or the class of the reserve cabernet. Currant and cherry flavors are complicated by leather, earth and herb nuances, with obvious acidity combining with firm tannins to give the finish a slightly dry edge. Not as primary as the reserve Cabernet but still needs another year or two to harmonize in the bottle.”here
