2010 Syrah

Estate Syrah 2010

Walla Walla Valley, Washington

WINEMAKER NOTES

The 2010 Estate Syrah is a complete wine, with a deep crimson to blood red color. The nose is dominated by black pepper and dark fruit aromas, but has nice spice and tea leaf notes. The flavors continue in the mouth and are joined by licorice, graphite minerality that’s almost reminiscent of gun-powder, and English Christmas pudding. The fruit evolves into dark plum, fig, and cassis. The mouthfeel is plush, with smooth velvety tannins that leave a long finish of Rhone-esque fruit and charcuterie flavors.

ACCOLADES

TEXSOM International 2014 – GOLD
Wine Enthusiast, July 2015 – 91 POINTS – “This appealing wine is already five years old but could use more time to show its best. The aromas of black pepper, licorice and blackberry are generous. Taut and tart fruit flavors come with a pleasing mouthfeel and a finish that lingers. Best from 2018 to 2021”.
