Claret 2009

Columbia Valley, Washington

WINEMAKER NOTES

Aromas of dark cherry compote, layers of oaky, toasty, leathery notes with hints of pencil shavings. The dark fruit carries over to the mouth and is joined by good acidity and firm structure, with a long mocha finish.

Claret is a classic French Bordeaux style red blend. The name “Claret” was actually bestowed and adopted by the British in the 12-15th centuries when this wine was exported from France and widely consumed by the upper class and royals of England.

Our Claret is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah, all from our Estate Vineyard, Pheasant Run.
